About Our School
Discover the story, mission and values that drive Hendon Tamil School's commitment to preserving Tamil language and culture in the UK.
Our Story
Hendon Tamil School is a community school, run Weekly on a Saturday, to serve the Tamil community in the UK. Its primary focus is to teach the Tamil Language, literature and cultural values to the younger generations.
Established over two decades ago, Hendon Tamil School began as a small community initiative to preserve the Tamil language and culture for children growing up in the UK. What started as weekend classes in a small community hall has now grown into a well-structured educational institution that has helped countless students connect with their Tamil heritage.
Our Achievements
Our students consistently achieve excellent results in GCSE and A/LEVEL Tamil examinations, with many going on to become ambassadors of Tamil culture in their communities and professions.
Our students have also graduated in the several fine arts and Tamil language subjects we teach, and have give to teach themselves
Our teachers are all qualified professionals who are passionate about Tamil language and culture. Many of them have taught in Sri Lanka or India before moving to the UK, bringing with them extensive experience and traditional teaching methods adapted for the British context.
Our Vision
Our vision is to nurture linguistic pride and cultural awareness while ensuring academic excellence. We believe that language is the gateway to culture, and by teaching Tamil, we are preserving an ancient heritage that spans thousands of years.
